Laneway Festival Comes To Detroit

DETROIT (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — A popular international festival brand's first foray into North America was successful with the launch of the Laneway Festival in Detroit.

The Laneway Festival took place on Saturday at Meadow Brook Music Festival in Rochester Hills and featured a lineup with a decidedly indie ethic. Bands on the bill this year included Chvrches, Deerhunter, Adult. AlunaGeorge, Solange Knowles, Icona Pop and The National among others.

The festival featured several performance stages, as well as art installations and a space dedicated to highlighting regional food and drink offerings.

Festival organizers said that about 7,500 people attended the first edition of the Detroit event.

Originally launched in Melbourne, Australia, in 2004, the Laneway festivals now take place in eight cities and four countries around the world, including Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and now, the U.S. – Staff Writers
