Levy New Editor-In-Chief At Billboard

NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Former top Rolling Stone editor Joe Levy has been tapped to replace Danyel Smith as the new editor-in-chief at Billboard.

Levy, who also held editorial stints at Maxim and Blender tried to put the kibosh on speculation that his presence at Billboard meant the publication was refocusing on consumers instead of the trade.

"We don’t intend to make it any more consumer-facing than it already is," Levy told the New York Post. "I hope I’ll bring more enterprise reporting and do more of the deep looks we’re capable of taking.”

Levy starts at Billboard on March 30th, and will report to Billboard’s editorial director Bill Werde.

Billboard publisher Lisa Howard also has reportedly left the company in the past few weeks but a replacement for Howard has yet to be named. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
