Lily Allen Cancels U.S. Dates

NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — British pop star Lily Allen has cancelled the second leg of her U.S. tour, set for May and June, saying that she was tired and not performing as well as she could.

Reuters reported that she posted a blog on her MySpace page, denying rumors that she was pregnant, exhausted or checking into rehab, and added that she would remain in the United States to promote her first album “Alright, Still” and start writing a second.

“I am tired, but more than that I don’t think I have been giving my best performances recently,” the 21-year-old Allen wrote. She has a reputation for being a wild partier.

“I have been getting really drunk because I’ve been so nervous about doing bad shows, and I don’t want people spending money on going to see a show that isn’t the best it could be.”

Allen has said in previous blogs that she was finding it hard trying to crack the key U.S. market, something many of Britain’s top acts have failed to do in recent years.

“Is it really important to break America?” she wrote. “If it is, I have to write my life off for the next nine months.”

Allen still plans to appear at the Coachella and Bonnaroo festivals. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
