Live Nation Expands Into Taiwan

TAIPEI, Taiwan (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Live Nation announced that they will be hanging their shingle in Taiwan after forming a joint venture with management firm B'In Music International Limited to launch Live Nation Taiwan.

Live Nation Taiwan will focus on promoting international, Taiwanese and other Asian acts in Taiwan, as well as looking for opportunities for Taiwanese acts internationally.

The joint venture will be based in Taipei and helmed by industry veteran Ngiam Kwang Hwa, who has more than 20 years experience in the business, promoting shows by artists such as Mayday, Chicago and Jennifer Lopez.

Live Nation's Taiwanese office is the tenth for Live Nation in Asia. Live Nation now operates markets in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan and Singapore.

B'In Music International is one of the largest management operations in Taiwan, and represents of Taiwanese alt-rockers Mayday, who've notched up sales of more than 10 million albums and 20 million tickets worldwide over the course of their career.

Mayday will be the focus of Live Nation Taiwan's first endeavor, which will see Mayday touring Europe and North America in Spring, 2014. The tour kicks off in London on the 21st and will land in the U.S. on March 17 with a show in Vancouver.

"Taiwan is one of the strongest economies in Asia and its proximity to the established touring markets of Japan, South Korea and Hong Kong make it an ideal stop on any Asian tour," said Alan Ridgeway, Live Nation President of International & Emerging Markets in a statement released by Live Nation. – Staff Writers
