MENLO PARK, CA (VIP NEWS) — Live Nation and Facebook have teamed up to launch ‘Official Events,’ a tab on artist pages that will link to Ticketmaster purchase pages. The new tab was debuted earlier this month on Jay Z and Beyonce’s Facebook pages, ahead of their joint summer tour.
As well, users who `save` or `join` a particular event will be notified via Facebook when tickets for the event are put on sale, and the four shows closest to fans will be displayed on artists’ pages.
"This will benefit millions of concert fans, and this launch could not have been possible without the collaboration with both artists and their management teams," said Ryan Okum, EVP of digital marketing for Live Nation U.S., in a statement.
The feature will be made available to sports, theatre and family events as well in the coming months.
