FULTON COUNTY, GA (CelebrityAccess) — Three entertainment companies, including Live Nation, are making a bid to operate the Wolf Creek Amphitheater in South Fulton.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, KDS Entertainment and a combined proposal from Platform Promotions and Plan It Green are joining Live Nation in seeking a management contract for the venue.
The companies’ proposals have not yet been made public and the board of commissioners is expected to make its selection the first week of December.
The transition to outsourced management for the venue comes against the backdrop of an audit commissioned by Fulton County that showed numerous violations taking place at the venue, including preferential treatment for select vendors and employees allegedly printing tickets, giving complimentary access to thousands of people, and sometimes filling the venue beyond capacity.
As well, the audit discovered that the spouse of the amphitheater’s employees was allegedly working at the amphitheater in a managerial capacity despite not being employed by the county.
“It does provide some degree of legitimacy to why we need to do this,” Fulton Chairman John Eaves told the AJC. “The timing of all of it is, I think, good.” – Staff Writers
