Live Nation Signs Charlie Sheen And His Machete

LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Charlie Sheen, fresh off of being fired from the CBS sitcom "Two and a Half Men," has signed a licensing and merch deal with Live Nation. The merchandise deal will include t-shirts and mugs and similar items, emblazoned with some of Sheen's more notorious public statements.

The deal might also, at some point in the future, including a live theatrical tour by Sheen, similar to the outing Conan O'Brien made after he too, was fired.

"He wants to connect personally with his fans and getting out there on a tour and seeing people in person really appeals to him," an unnamed source told the Toronto Star.

After signing the deal, Sheen made a public appearance on the roof of Live Nation's Los Angeles headquarters, wielding what appeared to be a machete, accompanied by one of his "goddesses" and drinking an unknown beverage from a bottle.

Joey Scoleri, Live Nation's senior VP for tour marketing & promotion, told E! News: "Being fired has only made him more popular because he is standing up for himself. He is a folk hero. We're hoping to have some of the items for sale as soon as next week. It's all coming together really quickly. He's got a lot of brilliant ideas."

Sheen, a veteran film and television actor, has been a fixture on "Two and a Half Men" for the better part of a decade, but was fired from the show on March 7th in the face of what appears to be increasingly erratic behavior. Sheen has been hospitalized twice since October and spent a stint in rehab and has participated in a series of interviews in which he espoused his hedonistic lifestyle, made anti Semitic comments (Sheen later denied he was anti-Semitic) and demanded a 50% increase from CBS.

A court also issued a restraining order against Sheen, requiring him to remain 100 feet away from his estranged wife, Brooke Mueller and their twin sons. Mueller claimed that the actor threatened her with physical harm and refused to return their twin sons. Police subsequently removed the two boys from Sheen's home, the Associated Press reported. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
