Live Nation's iTunes Deal

LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Apple revealed today that Live Nation will be powering the concert listings feature in the next iteration of Apple's popular iTunes music software.

The partnership will allow iTunes users to purchase concert tickets directly from Live Nation/Ticketmaster through the iTunes application. Apple has previously said that there are more than 150 million iTunes users worldwide.

The new version of iTunes, which is immediately available for download, also sports a new logo and has a built-in foray into social networking called Ping. According to Apple, Ping wll let users see what music their friends are listening to, and comment on it.

Unsurprisingly, Live Nation's Michael Rapino vibed enthusiastic about the deal with Apple. "We are thrilled to power the concert listings feature on iTunes and deliver this new and simple way for millions of iTunes users to purchase concert tickets at Livenation.com and Ticketmaster.com. Our partnership with Apple is a key part of our strategy to empower fans with the greatest access to live entertainment." he said in a statement, following the announcements. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
