LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The rumor mill is abuzz today with renewed gossip that Jennifer Lopez has signed a $12 million dollar deal join American Idol as their newest judge.
According to Bloomberg, News Corp.'s Fox will make an official announcement about the deal on September 22nd. Sources close to the negotiations confirmed that Lopez had struck a deal but refused to be identified
Simon Cowell, Kara DioGuardi and Ellen DeGeneres have all taken their exit bows as judges on the show, leaving Randy Jackson as the only returning judge. The anonymous sources also indicated that Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler has signed a contract to be a judge on the show, but this too, remains unconfirmed.
Producer Nigel Lythgoe is said to be returning for the show's next season and Universal Music Group chairman Jimmy Iovine has also been said to be signing on as a creative consultant for the show, Bloomberg said. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
