MANILA, Philippines (CelebrityAccess) — Macau casino operator Melco Crown Entertainment opened its new casino and entertainment resort in Manila on Monday with a concert featuring rapper Ne-Yo.
City of Dreams Manila features six hotel towers, including a Crown Towers hotel, a Hyatt and the Nobu Hotel Manila, as well as numerous specialty restaurants and bars, gaming facilities and a multi-level car park.
The resort also includes, a live performance central lounge inside the casino and a night club situated at the Fortune Egg, an architecturally-unique dome-like structure, as well as the Dreamworks collaboration interactive play space DreamPlay.
While the new resort is primarily focused on the growing tourism industry in The Philippines, Clarence Chung Yuk Man, chairman of the Philippine arm of Melco Crown said the casino would also work to attract local business, which was estimated to be worth as much as $2.3 billion in 2014. – Staff Writers
