Madonna Announces 2012 World Tour Plans

NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — After much rumor and speculation, Madonna has finally announced the details of her forthcoming 2012 world tour.

Produced by Live Nation, the tour kicks off in Tel Aviv, Israel on May 29th and will carry Madonna throughout Europe and North America with posted dates stretching well into the fall with a November 17th date in Atlanta.

Stops on Madonna's itinerary include a September 6th show in NY’s Yankee Stadium, The Staples Center in L.A. and the O2 Arena in Berlin. Additional dates are likely for next year as well.

Madonna’s previous outing, the highly successful “Sticky & Sweet” Tour proved to be one of the biggest tours in history. Sell-out dates included the 70,000 seater in Werchter, Belgium, an 85,000 sell-out in Helsinki (the largest show ever in the Nordic countries by a solo artist), a 40,000 ticket sell-out in Oslo, Norway, and 72,000 tickets sold out in one day in Tallinn Estonia. Madonna also sold more than 650,000 tickets in South America, 72,000 tickets at Zurich's Dübendorf Airfield – the largest audience ever assembled for a show in Switzerland, 75,000 tickets in London and four sell outs in New York's Madison Square Garden (60,364 tickets).

Madonna will be touring in support of her twelfth "MDNA" (March 26th) which will be the veteran performer's first effort since signing with Live Nation/Interscope. Madonna performed a single, "Give Me All Your Luvin" from the new album during her half-time performance at the 2012 Super Bowl, which was watched by an estimated 110 million viewers.

"Madonna’s track record as a world class entertainer and touring artist speaks for itself. Her artistry, talent and creative productions get bigger and better with each tour and Madonna 2012 will be no exception. We are thrilled to have her back on the road and know her fans feel the same,” commented Arthur Fogel, CEO Live Nation Entertainment Global Touring and Madonna tour promoter.
