Man Arrested After Allegedly Driving Car Into Mizzou Arena

Columbus, Mo. (CelebrityAccess) — A Columbia man is facing felony counts of second-degree burglary and first-degree property damage after he allegedly drove his car into Mizzou Arena and onto Norm Stewart Court early Sunday morning, causing an estimated $100,000 worth of damage.

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, police allege that 23-year-old Nathaniel Conant, who was employed as a temp at the University of Missouri, drove his car through a closed gate on the south side of the arena and then through a garage door and into a loading dock where he damaged several golf carts in storage.

Police allege that Conant then drove onto the arena's basketball court and then through the arena's press gate to escape from the building.

Conant later turned himself in after police contacted him as a suspect, a police spokesperson told the Post-Dispatch.

Conant recently graduated from the University of Missouri with a bachelor's degree in English and had been working as a temporary worker for the school's athletics department, the Post-Dispatch said. – Staff Writers
