Maple Leaf Renews With Live Nation

TORONTO (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Live Nation Entertainment has renewed their strategic partnership with Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment. The deal also included an extension of Ticketmaster’s ticketing services deal for MLSE’s venues through 2018.

Maple Leaf is currently helmed by Tim Leiweke, who until last March, oversaw Live Nation's chief competitor AEG Live.

MLS&E owns and operates venues throughout Ontario, including the Air Canada Centre, Ricoh Coliseum and handles sponsorship for Live Nation owned or operated Ontario venues, such as the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre and TD Echo Beach at Ontario Place. In July of this year. Leiweke revealed that MLS&E is considering trying to break into the festival business with an eye towards the Toronto market.

"Live Nation is the leading promoter in the world and their presence and influence here in Toronto is very strong," said Tim Leiweke, president and chief executive officer, MLSE. "We value our partnership with Live Nation and look forward to expanding on the early success we have enjoyed together to continue delivering the best acts to Toronto. Live Nation and its Ticketmaster division are the best in the business, and we’re thrilled to have them as a partner as we work to bring the best in entertainment to our fans." – Staff Writers
