LOS ANGELES, (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Live Nation has elected Mark Shapiro, President and Chief Executive Officer of Six Flags, to join their board of directors.
"Mark's position at Six Flags gives him an unparalleled level of experience in consumer entertainment, brand building, sponsorship and marketing," said Michael Rapino, President and Chief Executive Officer of Live Nation. Shapiro signed on with Six Flags in 2005 and during his tenure there, the company saw record finacial results including having a positive free cash flow for the first time in its history.
Prior to Six Flags, Shapiro spent twelve years at ESPN, where he helped to shape the company into the a strong multimedia brand. While at ESPN, he garnered
16 Emmy Awards and the only two Peabody Awards won by ESPN to date.
