BEIJING, China (CelebrityAccess) — CAA China, the agency's new joint venture with CMC Capital Partners, has named entertainment veteran Mary Gu Shuhang Chief Executive Officer.
CAA China is focused on a variety of entertainment avenues in the mammoth Asian nation, including motion pictures, sports services, branding opportunities, live events, music touring and television.
CAA opened its China office in 2005 and has been involved in 75 Chinese-language film projects in addition to numerous co-productions, according to the company.
In her new post at CAA China, Gu will work alongside Jonah Greenberg, who oversees CAA China’s movie business, Roeg Sutherland, head of the agency’s Global Film Finance and Sales Group, and Daniel Manwaring, who leads CAA’s Chinese film finance practice.
Gu Shuhang comes to the company from the Special Olympics International, where she most recently was Regional President & Managing Director, East Asia. Her previous experience also includes a tenure as President of the Shanghai Corporate Pavilion at the Shanghai World Expo 2010 and co-founded a major track and field event in China.
