IMJINKAK, Republic of Korea. (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Melanie Safka, an American folk singer, played a concert to promote the notion of peace at the South Korean town of Imjinkak, according to the South Korean Times. Imjinkak is 55 km north of Seoul, along the demilitarized zone along the North Korean/South Korean border, perhaps one of the most densely defended borders in the world.
Melanie, best known for her 1972 hit "Brand New Key" (Alternately known as The Roller Skate Song) is attempting to organize a tour for peace. Details for said tour have not been made public however.- CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
