Michael Cohl Returns To The World Of Touring, This Time With Super Heroes

LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Michael Cohl has signed on with Rick Licht and Doug Schaer, founders of Los Angeles-based entertainment company Hero Ventures to create “The Marvel Experience,” a touring show featuring dozens of Marvel Comics super heroes in 2014.

The company says that the $30+ million show will leverage state-of-the-art interactive and multimedia technology, including a 4D motion ride and original 3D animated features, to drive audience involvement.

Tour elements include a one-of-a-kind, traveling dome complex the size of two football fields developed by Hero Ventures. In addition to the 4D motion ride and 3D animated features, other components will include digitally projected animation, motion-comic origin stories, virtual reality and holographic simulations, original merchandise and social media integrated into the narrative story line.

In addition to Mr. Cohl, Licht and Schar, Hero Venture's management team also includes Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark co-producer and PRG founder Jeremiah “Jere” Harris, who will co-produce the tour with Cohl. Investors in the venture include New York Giants co-owner Steve Tisch; Roy P. Disney and Shamrock Holdings; Guess Jeans co-Founders Maurice & Paul Marciano; WWE®; Vista Equity Partners President Brian Sheth; Ross Hilton Kemper and Enlight Media, among others.

The tour, backed by Disney, might allow the company to find new ways to monetize the Marvel intellectual property beyond the theme parks and movie theaters. Disney acquired Marvel for $4 billion in 2009. – Staff Writers
