A change of focus in the ‘90s resulted in Murphey becoming the top selling artist of American Cowboy Music before his most recent musical explorations of the similarities between Bluegrass and Cowboy Music. The result was his 2009 Grammy nominated Buckaroo Blue Grass. His newest release, Tall Grass and Cool Water, is the third in the "Buckaroo" series.
