SANTA MONICA, (CelebrityAccess) – Universal Music Publishing Group has named Mike McCormack as its new managing director in the UK. He succeeds Paul Connolly, who is stepping down from his role as President of Europe and Managing Director U.K.
McCormack is based in London and reports to Jody Gerson, Chairman and CEO of UMPG.
McCormack first joined UMPG’s U.K. business in 1999 as Deputy Managing Director and has signed and collaborated with artists including Adele, Alabama Shakes, Lily Allen, Dangermouse, The Darkness, The Killers, MGMT and Sigur Ros.
Prior to signing on with UMPG, he did a stint at Simon Fuller's 19 Music Publishing, helping to establish the company's sports agency. He also served as Director of A&R at RCA Records and led the A&R team at Virgin Music Publishing when they signed The Prodigy. – Staff Writers
