Miley Cyrus' VMA Companion Sought On Warrant

LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — Miley Cyrus's VMA companion got a lot of media attention after the pair appeared at the awards show on Sunday night, however, not all of that attention may be welcome.

Cyrus's companion, Jesse Helt, billed as a young, homeless man, reportedly has an active warrant for violation of probation in Oregon. Helt, 22, was arrested on charges of criminal mischief, criminal trespass and burglary in 2010 for breaking into the home of a man Helt claimed sold him bad marijuana.

At time of his arrest, Helt pleaded guilty to criminal mischief and criminal trespass and caught a 30-day stint in jail, followed by probation. However, Helt violated this probation when he moved to Los Angeles to try to make it as a model.

According to United Press International, Polk County Director of Community Corrections Martin Silbernagel sad that officials are actively seeking Helt to effect an arrest.

After Helt's legal complications came to light, Cyrus tweeted: “People who are homeless have lived very hard lives. Jesse included.” She then tweeted: “Does looking down upon the homeless help people excuse their inaction?” – Staff Writers
