Milwaukee Man Charged In Death Of Jazz Club Owner

MILWAUKEE (CelebrityAccess) — A Milwaukee man has been charged in the death of a jazz club owner whose body was found hidden in the venue.

According to Milwaukee's Fox6 News, 30-year-old Jason Small is facing charges of first degree homicide and possession of a firearm by a felon in connection with the death of club owner Donald Lewis. Milwaukee police reported that discovered the body of Lewis, who had previously been reported missing, concealed in the basement of his club, The Jazz Cafe, located near 24th and Fond du Lac.

According to Fox6, Small worked as a cook and a cashier at the cafe since May and police noted that the cash register had been emptied and a security system that would normally be in the kitchen “had been forcibly removed” and were nowhere to be found.

Officers initially suspected that Lewis, and Small, who was also missing at the time, had been abducted from the venue during a robbery but later discovered evidence implicating Small in a nearby trash bin.

If convicted on the more serious homicide charge, Small faces up to life in prison. – Staff Writers
