MANCHESTER, UK (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The Music Managers Forum is urging artists to sign on to their new artists charter to help secure "fair play" for artists in the digital age.
The charter creates a new organization called "Featured Artistes' Coalition (FAC)" that aims to give artists more control over their careers. The new coalition will strive to help artists to change the way artists and business interact and to provide musicians with a platform to provide input in the ongoing legal debate engendered by the evolution of the music industry in the digital millenium.
Among the issues that the coalition hopes to address will be the disparity between song writers and artist copyrights, how artists get paid for their work and changes to how artist interact with record labels.
