Mohegans Tapped For Korean Casino Venture

INCHEON, South Korea (CelebrityAccess) — The Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority, operators of the Mohegan Sun and Mohegan Sun Pocono announced that they have signed on to build and operate a gaming and entertainment complex at Incheon Airport in South Korea.

The integrated hotel-casino resort will feature entertainment and hospitality attractions, as well as the only casino-resort anywhere connected to a major airport.

While the details are still being hammered out, the development is expected to include:

  • Two-tower luxury hotel complex with 1,000 guest rooms, which will be split between 300 6-star rooms and 700 5-star rooms;
  • A private jet terminal.
  • As many as 60 retail shops and 20 food and beverage outlets.
  • A Korean cosmetics and beauty hub
  • A 20,000 capacity entertainment arena suited for concerts and sporting events
  • 18,500 feet of gaming space
  • An Indoor-Outdoor amusement park with 18,500 sq. meters of the latest high-tech amusement rides and more than 12 outdoor attractions
  • The deal is expected to be finalized by the end of June, 2015.
