More Performers Announced For CMAs

NASHVILLE, TN (CelebrityAccess) — The Country Music Association has announced the latest round of performers for the upcoming The 49th Annual CMA Awards, with Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Sam Hunt, and Blake Shelton joining the bill.

Hosted by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood, the awards show will also feature performances by Kelsea Ballerini, Miranda Lambert, Maddie & Tae, Kacey Musgraves, Paisley, and Underwood, as well as a collaboration with Eric Church joining musical forces with Hank Williams, Jr., Thomas Rhett with Fall Out Boy, and Keith Urban performing with John Mellencamp.

Aldean has 14 career CMA Awards nominations including three each for Entertainer and Male Vocalist of the Year (2011-1013). He has won CMA Awards for Musical Event of the Year with Kelly Clarkson for “Don’t You Wanna Stay” and Album of the Year for My Kinda Party, both in 2011. He received his first nomination in 2008 for New Artist of the Year. He is nominated for Album of the Year for Old Boots, New Dirt, produced by Michael Knox.

Bryan, who is the reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year, is nominated in that category again in 2015 (he received his first nomination in the Entertainer category in 2013). He is also nominated for Male Vocalist of the Year (he has been nominated in this category every year since 2012). He received his first CMA Awards nomination in 2010 for New Artist of the Year.

Most New Artist of the Year nominees are content with recognition in that sought-after category, but CMA member voters bestowed two additional nods to Hunt. He collected nominations for Single of the Year for “Take Your Time,” which was produced by Zach Crowell and Shane McAnally; and Song of the Year for “Take Your Time,” which Hunt wrote with McAnally and Josh Osborne.

Shelton is nominated for Musical Event of the Year with Ashley Monroe for “Lonely Tonight” and Male Vocalist, a trophy he has won five consecutive times (2010-2014). This marks Shelton’s second Musical Event of the Year nomination with Monroe. Monroe was a member of Pistol Annies in 2013 when they were nominated with Shelton for Musical Event of the Year for “Boys ‘Round Here.”

The awards show will air live on Nov. 4th from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on the ABC Television Network. – Staff Writers
