Mountain View Changes City Council Comp Ticket Policy

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The Mountain View City Council has approved a new policy to address the practice of distributing comp tickets to the Shoreline Amphitheatre.

Previously, council members had been eligible for two free tickets per show at the Amphitheatre, which amounted to approximately 90 tickets a year. Under the new plan, Council members will be eligible for 14 free tickets a year with another 10 tickets available at face value and another 10 that are counted as income and subject to taxes.

The new policy was formulated in response to new state regulations that are designed to prevent elected officials from using tickets as a form of political patronage.

After a lengthy debate on the particulars of the proposal, including the number and relation of guests permitted to use such tickets, the council voted unanimously to approve the measure. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
