MSG May Lease The Beacon

NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The NY Daily News is reporting that MSG will lease the fabled Beacon Theater. The theater has negotiated a long-term lease with MSG Entertainment, the concert promoter arm of media giant Cablevision. MSG also controls Madison Square Garden, Radio City Entertainment, the Knicks and the Rangers. The deal is expected to be formally announced today in a press conference.

The Beacon was originally opened in 1929 as a movie/Vaudeville theater. With nearly perfect acoustics, it has since become one of the preeminent live music venues in New York City. It was designated as a national landmark in 1979. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
