NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — MSG Entertainment (MSGE) has tapped Don Simpson as Executive Vice President, Productions. Previously, Mr. Simpson served as Senior Vice President, Business Development Venues & Festivals at MSG Entertainment. In his new role, Mr. Simpson will oversee all aspects of MSGE productions and production franchises, including the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, the Radio City Christmas Spectacular Arena and Theater tours, the MSG related Cirque du Soleil productions, while continuing to oversee all future MSGE business development projects.
As a part of his new portfolio, Mr. Simpson will help establish the overall business strategy and objectives for all MSGE productions and franchises and lead all aspects of identifying and launching successful new productions. Mr. Simpson will work closely with all areas of MSGE to develop and execute strategies involving marketing, sponsorship, group sales and merchandising.
Prior to joining MSGE in 2008, Mr. Simpson held various positions while at House of Blues Concerts Canada, formerly Universal Concerts Canada/MCA Concerts Canada. He most recently served as President of House of Blues where he opened The Molson Amphitheatre, as well as renovated and reopened the 75-year old Commodore Ballroom, one of Canada’s most iconic venues, located in Vancouver. Mr. Simpson holds degrees from McMaster University in Hamilton, On and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario and currently resides in New York City.
