Music Choice On-Demand Surpasses 100 Million Views

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) —
Music Choice On-Demand content has surpassed 100 million views since its launch in Comcast video-on-demand (VOD)-enabled markets in November 2004. The free VOD programming features hundreds of multi-genre music videos; exclusive music shows; in-studio performances and interviews; and concerts on demand. The most popular performer among Comcast customers has been Ciara, with more than 7million views of her music videos so far, including more than 2 million views for her hit single with Missy Elliot, "1, 2 Step."

"Music is a natural fit for VOD, giving customers the choice and control to pick the videos and artists they want to see any time they want," said Page Thompson, vice president and general manager of Comcast On-Demand. "We're pleased with the success of Music Choice's programming within our music category, and look forward to continuing to work with them to offer our customers more value in their home entertainment experience."

"As we continue the distribution of our video-on-demand content to multiple cable providers, reaching millions of additional homes nationwide, Music Choice is positioned to remain the most-viewed on-demand music network in the country," says David Del Beccaro, president/CEO of Music Choice. "The viewership stats to date have been remarkable, and we are anticipating even greater results as we continue to expand and enhance our on-demand offering."

Music Choice On-Demand offers viewers the ability to select from hundreds of music videos across multiple categories, including R&B and hip-hop, rock, country, Latin, and 80s & 90s, and watch them whenever — and however often — they like. The music video catalog includes today's hottest artists, established performers, and emerging musicians who are making their way to the top of the charts.

In addition, Music Choice On-Demand offers "MC Exclusive," which features exclusive music shows, in-studio performances and interviews, and concerts on demand. Viewers can choose to watch a full-length concert at their convenience or check out exclusive Music Choice shows such as Tha' Corner, its raw and real rap show, and Fresh Crops, a program that introduces music fans to new music and artists across various music genres. Viewers also have access to exclusive artist performances and interviews filmed at the Music Choice Studios in NYC. With hundreds of artists stopping by the studios each year, the content is refreshed often to bring viewers new editions of exclusive music shows, a mix of current and classic concerts, and a wide variety of performances and interviews. –Jane Cohen and Bob Grossweiner
