Music Industy Executive, Jayne Neches Simon, Dies At 66

MARINA DEL REY, CA (CelebrityAccess Mediawire) Music industry executive, Jayne Neches Simon passed away on Sunday October 19th after a 10 month battle with lung cancer. She was surrounded by friends’ family and her beloved dog.

After graduating from the University of Wisconsin in 1970, Jayne embarked on a long career in the music industry. She began her career in radio and then local sales in Chicago and quickly moved up the ranks in national sales, spending lengthy stints at A&M, then as GM at Zoo, later she was a Senior VIP at Geffen, and also a Senior VP at MCA. She retired in 2004 to Park City, where opened her own company, Artist Garage, with Michael Regan, in an indie sales consulting venture.

During her career Jayne worked with artists such as Herb Alpert, Janet Jackson, Styx, Mary J. Blige, Sting (solo), Police, Aerosmith, Guns n Roses, Nirvana and Elton John. She is survived by her husband Norm, her brother Bob (Mimi), son Michael, daughter Cami and son-in-law Morris, grandchildren Jensen, Dustin, Chase, Gregory and Sydney, brother-in-law Roger (Diane), dog Magic and all her loving family and friends. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
