'Natural Woman' Steals The Show At Kennedy Center Honors

WASHINGTON D.C. (CelebrityAccess) –CBS, thanks to “NCIS” and the “Kennedy Center Honors,” had a number one evening in the ratings for the last Tuesday of 2015.

According to Nielsen ratings the “Kennedy Center Honors” an annual special, this year honored Rita Moreno, George Lucas, Cicely Tyson, Seiji Ozawa and Carole King, maintained the same 0.9 demo rating with each half-hour. So those who tuned into the special remained watching the talent literally sing the praises of the others.

The numbers for the “Kennedy Center Honors,” may have been a bit lower than last year, however the talent and the honored were not. Along with the above mentioned artists the Eagles were supposed to be honored this year but took a deferment, as founding member Glenn Frey's intestinal surgery coincided with the event. Miranda Lambert sang the band's classic "Desperado" to honor them in their absence.

Aretha Franklin's rendition of “Natural Woman” to honor the legendary singer/songwriter, Carole King brought Ms. King to complete shock and awe and Obama to tears.
