Neiss Retiring From Fox Theatre, Vella Named GM

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — General Manager for nearly 25 years, Ed Neiss is retiring from Atlanta’s Fox Theatre, effective July 1, 2006. Allan C. Vella has been named as his replacement.

“Though we are sad to lose Ed Neiss, who is something of an icon in Atlanta and the industry; we are excited to welcome Allan to Atlanta and thrilled about our prospects for the future of the theatre,” said Alan E. Thomas, President of Atlanta Landmarks, Inc. “We fully expect that Allan will quickly acclimate and become an integral part of the Atlanta community.”

Vella, who most recently served as GM of Ford Park in Beaumont, Texas, comes to the Fox Theatre with an extensive background in venue management. He was responsible for the day-to-day operations at the SMG-managed 227-acre facility.
