NEW HAVEN, CT (CelebrityAccess) — Known as the “musician’s living room” the owner of the New Haven venue Cafe Nine has announced that the venue is up for sale.
According to the New Haven Independent, owner Paul Mayer confirmed that the venue is on the block. Mayer told the Independent that business is good, but he's ready for a change of pace.
"I’ve owned it 11 years, and I am looking for someone to carry on its legacy. I’m 55 now and and want to move South. The winters are getting to me. I still enjoy it but it’s really a young man’s game,” Mayer told the paper.
“My intent is to find someone who will keep the tradition of live music going. So hopefully it will be a seamless transition and you can continue to hear live music there," Mayer added.
The 120-capacity venue regularly hosts a variety of musical offerings, ranging from indie rock and DJs to jazz and blues. – Staff Writers
