GREENVILLE, SC (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The 15,000-seat Bi-Lo Center in Greenville, South Carolina, has named Roger Newton as executive director.
Newton, hired by facility management and concessions company Centerplate, will be responsible for overseeing operations. His duties include event planning and marketing, ticket distribution, advertising and maintenance.
Before joining Centerplate, Newton worked for SMG as a regional Vice President in Philadelphia. Prior to that, he was general manager of Ford Park in Beaumont, Texas. He has also previously managed the American Airlines Arena in Miami, the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York, and the Corel Centre in Ottawa.
Newton succeeds Ed Rubinstein, who had stepped down to oversee operations for the Greenville Grrrowl, the East Coast Hockey League team that calls the Bi-Lo Center home.
