Onesheet / ArtistData Founder Is Secretly Building A New Service For Musicians

LOS ANGELES (Hypebot) – Serial entrepreneur Brenden Mulligan, best known for founding ArtistData (acquired in 2010 by Sonicbids) and Onesheet (acquired in 2013 by Bandzoogle), is working on a new service aimed at giving musicians a new way to interact with their fans. Mulligan has been largely out of music-tech over the past year, focusing instead of private photos sharing app Cluster, which he and a small team raised $1.6 million for last August.

Although the project is still in stealth, Mulligan shared the following details:

“Since launching Cluster, we’ve been inundated with requests from musicians who want to use the app with their fans at concerts. We’re currently exploring concepts to help musicians build a new way of interacting with fans at shows, where fans contribute the photos they take to the band’s official concert album and potentially get access to backstage or candid photos taken by the band and their crew in return.”

“Musicians know that fans are taking thousands of photos every night, but only see a few of them posted to public social networks. We think there’s an interesting opportunity to help bridge the gap between musicians and all the great content fans are capturing.”

When asked about when the service would be publicly available, Mulligan said “we expect to release something in the next few months, but are currently looking for musicians interested in helping us with early feedback.”
