Oteil Burbridge Recovering From Motorcycle Accident

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Oteil Burbridge, bass player for the Allman Brothers Band and leader of Oteil and the Peacemakers, was involved in a minor traffic accident yesterday, March 29th, while riding his motorcycle.

Burbridge, 41, was admitted to the University of Alabama-Birmingham hospital, and underwent minor treatment to clean out wounds to his leg and is recovering nicely.

The slow speed accident occurred in his hometown of Birmingham, when his Triumph motorcycle accidentally hit an automobile. Burbridge was wearing a helmet, and is expected to recover soon.

Oteil was forced to cancel tonight’s performance with the Peacemakers at the Savannah Music Festival, but will be ready to perform in time for the band’s April 8th performance at Copper Mountain, Colorado, and the Wanee Festival in Florida on April 14th and 15th.

All other dates, through April, May and over the summer with the Allman Brothers Band and with the Peacemakers, will not be affected. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
