OTTAWA, Ontario (CelebrityAccess) — RBC Bluesfest organizers have announced the lineup for the 2015 Ottawa Bluesfest, though the official announcement came little earlier than initially planned after some details were leaked.
The festival this year will feature Jason Aldean, Iggy Azalea, Chvrches, Full Flex Express with Jack Ü featuring Diplo and Skrillex, Keith Urban, Tragically Hip and Deep Purple, Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros, Future Islands, Interpol, Paul Oakenfold, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Porter Robinson among numerous others. Additional artist announcements are expected as well.
Sponsored by RBC, the Ottawa Bluesfest will take place from July 8 to 19 at LeBreton Flats Park in Ottawa.
Bluesfest organizers made their lineup announcement ahead of schedule after a screen capture which showed part of the lineup was released on social media by a blogger, however a rep from Bluesfest told CelebrityAccess that they were on the verge of announcing the lineup anyway, so the leak had little impact.
“If it was something we were working on a month ago, it would have included a bunch of names that maybe weren’t confirmed and that would have been worse,” Bluesfest executive and artistic director Mark Monahan told the Ottawa Citizen. “But all the names were confirmed. We were planning to release it in the next 24 hours. It’s essentially the lineup so it’s not really the end of the world. There were a number of people working on the development site and someone found it and posted it. It just means we have to scramble a bit to make sure we’re covered off tomorrow.” – Staff Writers
