NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Pat Metheny will be hitting the road in 2010 in support of his forthcoming, as yet, untitled release on Nonesuch Records.
Using a completely new kind of modern technology to expand his musical vision, 17-time Grammy-winning guitarist Pat Metheny will for the first time perform all original compositions in concert entirely alone as a solo presentation with no other musicians onstage. He has created a new Orchestrion, an ensemble of mechanical instruments controlled entirely from Metheny¹s guitar and pen performing a unique program of original music.
Metheny has always been a strong proponent of introducing new tools to his approach to music. Now, Metheny will perform using new types of instruments that integrate conventional acoustic sound and robotic technology with all accompaniment generated by his own hand.
The album is set to fly in early January 2010 and Metheny will be touring in support throughout 2010. Laurel Wicks at the Ted Kurland Agency is currently soliciting dates for the tour. Availabilities include:
