Paulo Lima Named President Of UMG Brazil


RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil (CelebrityAccess) — Veteran label exec Paulo Lima has been appointed to the post of President of Universal Music Brazil.

Lima will be based out of the company's offices in Rio and will report to Jesús Lopez, Chairman and CEO of Universal Music Latin America and Iberian Peninsula. Lima is stepping in for José Eboli, who has led Universal Music Brazil since 2003.

Prior to joining Universal, he served as partner and CEO of Imusica S.A., a digital music company in Latin America, developing download and streaming digital distribution platforms for digital music services such as Claro Musica.

He started his career in 1989 as a sound and maintenance Engineer at Impressão Digital Studios & Nas Nuvens Studios in Brazil and worked at record labels such as Som Livre and Polygram. From 1996 to 2006 he was founding partner and CEO of Ground Control Professional Audio, a company specializing in engineering design, installation and maintenance of professional audio in Brazil and Florida. – Staff Writers
