SANTIAGO, Chile (VIP NEWS) — Swedish Festival Peace & Love will be celebrating its 10th anniversary next year. Ever since 2003 the festival has been a sold out success, with sales now exceeding 20,000 tickets a day.
Ticket sales have now opened for the 2008 event that will take place between 23rd and 28th June 2008. Spread over six days with three theme-days and three music festival days there will be more music, debates, lectures and workshops than ever.
The first artists to be announced include mainly Swedish acts such as Hardcore Superstar, Looptroop, Anna Järvinen, Eldkvarn, Those Dancing Days, The Haunted, Petter, Pugh Rogefeld, Entombed but also UK punk icons the Sex Pistols.
Internet ticket sales will now be done through Tickster and those who buy their tickets in December will also get a yearbook for the festival 2007, a biography on the most successful year in the festival’s history.
In the beginning of 2008 Peace & Love will bring its unique concept to Conchalí in Chile, one of the Capital City Santiago’s poorer districts. Three Swedish, one American and a number of Chilean artists and bands will perform on 4th and 5th January. The event will go under the theme “Solidarity” and a couple of other organizations will also join in. Five Peace & Love employees will work with the project in Conchalí.
“It’s going to be very exciting to try our concept together with Conchalí. We’re very serious about the message our festival sends out”, says Sara Olsson, one of the main people behind Peace & Love.
Peace & Love are also releasing next year’s festival calendar, and the surplus goes to the children living on the streets of Chile. The calendar will be available to purchase through the website or locally in Borlänge.
