LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — Tim Leiweke's Oak View Group has named veteran facilities manager and current executive chairman of the Florida Panthers Peter Luukko as co-chairman of the Arena Alliance.
“Peter is a great friend and a titan in our business who’s led the success of many of the world’s most iconic arenas sports teams,” said Tim Leiweke. “It’s an honor to have him on board as a partner and there’s no one better suited to bring the vision of the Alliance to life.”
“Peter and I started together managing the Los Angeles Coliseum and Sports Arena in the mid-80’s. In those days, our tenants were Al Davis and the Raiders and Donald Sterling and the Clippers,” added Irving Azoff. “What a pleasure it is to be back working with Peter. No one does it better.”
In addition to his new duties as co-chairman, Lukko will continue in his role as Executive Chairman for the Florida Panthers. Previous experience for Luukko includes stints as President and Chief Operation Officer for Comcast-Spectator for 25 years where he oversaw the Philadelphia Flyers and Philadelphia Sixers in addition to serving as a member of the National Hockey League Board of Governors. – Staff Writers
