LONDON (VIP NEWS) — Carlin Music’s Peter Thomas is set to run the publisher’s UK and European operations following the departure of David Japp, who exited the company after 37 years, earlier this week.
Peter Thomas, currently general manager at Carlin, will step up to the role of managing director and run the UK and European business with finance director Terry Heard.
Thomas will report to Caroline Bienstock, CEO and president of the Carlin Group based in New York.
"The Carlin Group of companies, and I personally, wish David well upon his retirement from Carlin,” said Bienstock. “He has been with us for many years and we hope his future endeavors are successful. We will all miss him greatly. Nonetheless, we are preparing for a great 2015 at Carlin, and have high hopes and expectations for our future."
Peter Thomas added: "It’s been my pleasure and privilege to work for Carlin and the Bienstock family for many years and it`s truly an honor to be taking on the role of MD working alongside Terry. We have an outstanding team of people here at Carlin who take enormous pride in looking after some of the greatest songwriters and songs ever written.
“Moving forward, we intend to build on Carlin`s traditional strengths in terms of copyright and catalogue administration and also look to evolve and improve the company so as to be fully equipped to face the challenges of music publishing in the digital age."
