Police Investigating Chattahoochee River Country Music Festival Over Unpaid Debts

CARROLLTON, Georgia (CelebrityAccess) — The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is looking into reports of unpaid debts in the wake of a failed country music festival.

According to Paulding Neighbor, Andy Turner and CelebScene Inc. organized and promoted the Chattahoochee River Country Music Festival, which was originally billed a as a 10-day festival that would attract an estimated 120,000 country music fans. However, after a contract dispute with the original venue Foxhall Resorts, the festival was relocated to the nearby VFW Fairgrounds and only attracted about 2,500 attended over the three days of the event when it took place from July 24th to 26th.

Now vendors have come forward claiming that they have not been paid. Those making allegations of non-payment against Celebscene include the resort that was to host the festival, who says it was only paid $50,000 of $250,000 they claim they are owed for the lease of venue.

Festival organizers are also under criminal investigation over approximately $7,000 allegedly owed to a Carrollton hotel where 78 rooms had been reserved for festival performers and staff.

As well, a local electrical vendor says it has yet to be paid more than $15,000 allegedly owed to his company for installing electrical services for the main stage, hospitality tent and the after party area. – Staff Writers
