Police Investigating Missing Bayfront Blues Fest Cash

DULUTH, MN (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Duluth police are investigating the alleged theft of thousands of dollars from the Bayfront Blues Fest in August.

According to the Duluth News Tribune, $26,000 dollars contained in one of the festival's 40 deposit bags never made it to the bank. The festival discovered the missing cash during an audit on Sept. 6th and contacted police, who declined to inform the public to avoid compromising what they described as a complex investigation.

"Contacting us to see if we could assist with locating if the bag was stolen or lost," Sgt. Chad Nagorski of Duluth’s Property and Financial Crimes Unit told the News Tribune.

The police report indicated that festival organizer Chris Mackey provided them with a list of individuals who had access to the bag prior to it being taken to the bank, but investigators have yet to develop any suspects.
