Powderfinger Sues Casino Over Wrist Injury

SYDNEY, Australia (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Ian Haug, lead guitarist of the band Powderfinger, is in a legal battle with Brisbane's Treasury Casino over an injury to his wrist.

Haug alleges that he was assaulted at the casino by a bouncer who he claims grabbed his wrist after Haug was involved in an altercation with another guest.

Haug contends that the bouncer "bent, twisted and restrained, with significant pressure and excessive force," resulting in "intermittent clicking sensation" and ongoing pain. He also suffered "sharp pain when … playing the guitar and as a result has been required to modify his method of performing" the Courier-Mail reported.

Haug seeks damages for personal injuries, loss of past and future earnings, interest and legal costs.

Powderfinger will headline a charity concert at The Tivoli on March 6 to raise money for The Red Cross Victorian Bushfire Appeal and The Queensland Premiers Disaster Relief Appeal.–by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
