Radiohead Concert Moves To Larger Venue

Radiohead concert upgraded to larger locale. Radiohead's Aug. 1 Chicago concert is moving to Hutchinson Field in Grant Park from the adjacent Arvey field. The new site is more than 1 1/2 times larger.

Concert promoters Jam Productions issued a press release announcing the new location, 15 days after Ticketmaster.com e-mailed the same information to fans who bought tickets for the show. Neither company disclosed the number of additional tickets to be sold, but the Chicago Tribune reports the new concert site will accommodate an additional 9,500 fans, bringing the show's capacity to 25,500. The group's initial ticket run went clean in four minutes.

"The Park District actually asked to move from Arvey to Hutchinson," said Angelynne Amores, spokeswoman for the Park District. "It's a little more flat; it's also surrounded by some landscaping, trees and bushes that can help soften the sound somewhat."

Amores also said the move was prompted by the high demand for tickets.
