Rage Against The Political Machine

MINNEAPOLIS, MN (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Rage Against the Machine will be playing the Target Center in Minneapolis on September 3rd. This coincides with the Republican National Convention, taking place that same evening, in St. Paul, according to the Star Tribune. This is most likely no fluke.

Conventions and concerts have run hand in hand before for this politically engaged rock band. In 2000 Rage Against the Machine performed a free concert in Los Angeles during the Democratic National Convention and according to the Star Tribune the crowd’s combative fervor inclined police to tear gas and pepper spray the fans. The band has on occasion thrashed the Bush administration at many shows this year, this includes last week’s Lollapalooza outing, according to the Tribune.

Political diatribes are expected the night of the convention on September 3rd. Lead guitarist Tom Morello has already expressed an interest in playing during both Conventions this summer.
