(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Randall Mays has been appointed president of Clear Channel Communications, effective immediately. He will also retain the post of Chief Financial Officer.
Mays served as a director of the company since April 1999, and was most recently executive VP and CFO.
His brother, Mark P. Mays remains Chief Executive Officer. He has been both president and CEO of Clear Channel, according to Billboard.
The position change follows a string of moves within the company that saw the radio and outdoor advertising conglomerate eventually spinning off its live entertainment division, now known as Live Nation. Stock performances by both Live Nation and Clear Channel have been good so far this year.
Clear Channel is expected to preview first-quarter-2006 pacings on its upcoming February 21 fourth quarter earnings call. The first quarter is the first fully comparative period of the company’s programming initiative that cut promotional and commercial ad time by an average of 20% across all of the company’s stations. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
