WILKES-BARRE, PA (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) – The Wachovia Arena announced its new General Manager, Rebecca Bonnevier, to the press on Monday. Bonnevier, who left a sales and marketing position at Century Tel Center in Bossier City, Louisiana, to take the Wachovia job, is a Pennsylvania native hailing originally from Clarks Summit.
She comes into the job after serving the last five years as director of sales and marketing at the Century Tel Center, a 12,000-seat arena in Bossier City, La. This facility shares much in common with the Wachovia Arena at Casey Plaza in that it, too, has its own hockey and arena football teams.
In addressing the new/old hometown media Bonnevier said she was looking forward to the challenge of following Andy Long, the facility's first GM, who left last month to take a position closer to his Iowa home.
Before moving to the Shreveport, La. area she worked as advertising/marketing manager for Caesars Pocono Resorts. Bonnevier, a summa cum laude graduate of Bloomsburg University and former "Miss Comet" at Abington Heights High School, is married and has two children. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
