Late night negotiations past the 5 PM Nov 26 deadline and mediated by Denver Mayor Wellington Webb who called in the lawyers, finally yielded an agreement between rival promoters Clear Channel Entertainment and the partnership of House of Blues and Nobody In Particular Presents for the booking of Red Rocks Amphitheater.
Both parties signed a seven-year agreement where CCE, with partner Kroenke Sports, and HOB/NIPP, will each pay the city $525,000 annually for 10 priority booking dates.
Fabby Hillyard, director of theatres and arenas, said the venue would still be available to anyone who wants to book it.
The deal reached will raise $7.35 million to help upgrade the facility and will be used to pay on the bonds to finance the $26.4 million in renovations that began this fall.
