Red Rocks To Restage Epochal U2 Concert

MORRISON, CO (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — 24 years ago, Irish rock band U2 stopped at Red Rocks and put on what turned out to be a legendary performance from their War Tour, captured as the Under A Blood Red Sky concert video. Now on August 21st, Red Rocks will play host to an elaborate re-creation of the event — the catch is that U2 won't be in attendance.

The music will instead be provided by the U2 tribute band Blood Red Sky, the Rocky Mountain News reported. "We’re going to re-create the entire concert as it was done 24 years ago," Red Rocks Marketing Director Erik Dyce told the News.

The city of Morrison worked assiduously to lure the band back to the Amphitheatre but an agreement couldn't be reached, which is why this event is being held a year early, to highlight a petition drive by the city of Morrison to lure the band back for the 25th anniversary of the concert that put the venue on the map.

According to the Rocky Mountain News, the city had tried to stage a similar event on the 15th and 20th anniversary but in both instances, the band declined. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
